Taking on the US is something that a majority of entrepreneurs consider; whether this is due to customer demands, increasing global market share, or to look more attractive to potential future acquirers of their business.
This dinner is for those that have expanded into the US and those that are considering their first move. You’ll discuss the potential pitfalls and paths of least resistance to launch as smoothly and successfully as possible, and cover issues of spreading yourself too thin and the potential impact on your UK operation.
Martin McCourt, ex CEO Dyson will be joining us for the evening, to share his knowledge of expanding Dyson to the US.
As the CEO of Dyson for 15 years, Martin devised and implemented a strategy that transformed the company, from a single product and single market producer, into one where 80% of the business comes from over 60 markets around the world.
Martin was directly responsible for the establishment of Dyson subsidiaries in the USA, Japan, Switzerland, Austria and Germany.
In total, he took Dyson into over 60 markets, achieving market leadership in the USA.
In that time, he grew profits to over £300m. In 2011 Dyson hit £1bn revenue for the first time.
